I illustrated a textured underground scene of dancing plant roots using both traditional and digital media.
I created my textures with traditional media and scanned them to use digitally in Photoshop. I made the flat, colored illustration digitally in Photoshop, and then I added my traditional textures on top.
I began my process with traditional paper and pencil sketches to explore different concepts for an illustrated underground scene. My sketches included caves, bug traffic, fantasy worlds, and dancing plant roots. I took my best concept of the dancing roots to refine further in Photoshop.
